"I created BABBLE, a Toronto artists’ zine (1987-1992), under the pseudonym of Mr. Bones. I participated in artist collectives: The Purple Institution in TO (1989), The Gargoyle Mechanique in NYC (1992). I am also a performance artist. In 1999, I received a BFA from NSCAD. For the next 20 years, I created no art or writing due to being over medicated for a ‘mental disability’. I am currently working on a memoir called SCREWLOOSE. I am preparing for a show at Dalhousie University Art Gallery in 2028. My collages can be found on Instagram under smyth6491. I am based in Halifax, Nova Scotia." -Sheila Smyth, 2025
