ROBIN FRY

Robin Fry (b. 1976, Halifax, Canada) is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist working in drawing, painting, sculpture, sound, video and performance. He studied at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (Vancouver) 1996-1997 and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax) 2000-2001. Over the decades Fry has become predominantly focused on painting. Drawn to the formal constraints of the canvas he brings his focus to problems of perceptual phenomena, spatial paradox and psychological space.

Since the late 1990s, Fry has been exhibiting across Tokyo, Berlin, Stockholm, Paris, Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Paul Petro Contemporary Art (Toronto), Hiromart Gallery (Tokyo), and the Helen Pitt Gallery (Vancouver). He is represented by Paul Petro Contemporary Art and Hiromart Gallery.
